ABOUT EMILY

Background

Emily grew up in Dallas, TX, where she began dancing at the age of 1, and has loved it ever since. She trained extensively in jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, musical theater, and more at CK Studio, and was also on her high school's dance team. Throughout this time, Emily knew that her love for dance and the arts would always follow her on whatever path lay ahead.

RHYTHMIC SOULS TAP COMPANY

Even starting at the late age of 13, tap quickly became Emily's favorite style of dance. Her passion for tap led to many new opportunities within the art form. She became a member of Rhythmic Souls Tap Company and attended many festivals throughout high school, where she learned from countless tap legends and found a community of people whose passion and talent for the style exceeded anything she could imagine.

OKLAHOMA CITY UNIVERSITY

Emily is currently pursuing a B.S. Dance Management degree at Oklahoma City University's Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment. While at OKCU, Emily has performed with the American Spirit Dance Company, and taken classes in performance, management, and all other aspects of the entertainment industry. Emily is so thankful for the meaningful education and relationships that OKCU has given her, and is excited for the opportunities that await in the professional world upon graduation.

ALPHA PHI

Between all of her dance related responsibilities, Emily is spending time with her sorority sisters. Emily joined Alpha Phi as an incoming freshman at OKCU, which has easily been the best decision of her college career. She has grown in so many ways and made friendships that will last a lifetime. In addition to being incredibly fun and talented, Emily's Alpha Phi sisters have been supportive in all aspects of her life. This fully came to fruition in her junior year, when she accepted the position of President of the Delta Delta Chapter of Alpha Phi, a role she never imagined herself in. Through leading the organization, she has been able to apply and grow her skills as a manager, while learning a lot about herself along the way.
